A photo from Belginum archaeological park

A great find on our way to Bernkastel was the Belginum archaeological park. Discovered in 1954, it was excavated thoroughly thru the 1980's. It is a Romano-Celtic settlement from about 100 c.e. There is a small, but very well-done museum and we took a tour and spoke to one of the archaeologists who was fluent in English. They are still excavating some temple sites on the grounds. The archaeologist there spoke a little English and between my German and his English we had a great talk about and saw some recent finds. The "jewel in the crown" being a wonderfully patinaed bronze coin with the image of Emperor Hadrian. I will try to attach the photo, but I have not been having good luck with images. Ave atque vale - as they used to say in Rome.
